Common Risks
The patient should be aware of the following potential risks that may be associated with breast lift cosmetic surgery:
Infection
The risk of infection can be minimized when the breast lift surgery is performed at a surgical center with high standards of hygiene. The surgeon may also prescribe advanced antibiotics for a few days to cut down the risk of infection.
Signs of infection include persistent pain, redness, increasing swelling, pus, fever or skin that feels warm to the touch. If the patient experiences any of these symptoms, she should get in touch with the surgeon immediately.
Hematoma
In a rare situation, the patient may experience uncontrolled bleeding following breast lift. This risk can be minimized when the surgeon is thorough with the patient’s medical history and current medications and supplements, and the patient is forthcoming with all the relevant information.

Poor Reaction to Anesthesia

Slow Healing

In such situations, the surgeon will trim away the dead tissue and re-suture both sides of the incision.
Loss of Sensation
Temporary numbness or loss of sensation may occur in the area around the nipple and areola due to their repositioning. In rare cases, the loss of sensation may be permanent. Unsatisfactory Aesthetic Outcome
Results with breast lift are generally highly satisfactory for most patients. However, in an exceptional case, the breasts may appear uneven after mastopexy. In some cases, the patient may be unhappy with the new shape of the areolas. These concerns can usually be addressed with revision surgery.
