What is a Brow Lift?
Often referred to as a forehead lift, a brow lift rejuvenates the forehead by correcting deep, horizontal forehead creases and frown lines. It also helps sagging eyebrows by re-positioning them to a more aesthetically pleasing position. The overall result is a more relaxed and younger-appearing forehead and eyebrow region.
How is it performed?
An incision will be made that extends across the hairline from ear to ear. The incision line will run either just at or behind your hairline to help conceal the scar. The skin is then gently lifted and tightened to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and the eyebrows are elevated into a more youthful position. The incision is closed with internal and external sutures and a compression bandage will be wrapped around your head. Remember…this procedure only rejuvenates the forehead/eyebrow region so it is usually performed in conjunction with a facelift, eyelid surgery, and/or facial fillers to provide a more youthful and rested appearance to the entire face.
What to expect after surgery?
This procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you will go home the same day as your surgery. You will have bandages covering your incision sites and you will be prescribed pain medication to help with any soreness that you may feel. Bruising, swelling, and numbness at the site of the incision are common after this surgery and will subside over several weeks. Final results may be obscured until all of the swelling has resolved.
