You have plenty of energy but people keep asking you if you are tired because of your heavy, droopy eyelids. If you want to rejuvenate your upper and/or lower eyelids, you may be a good candidate to undergo eyelid surgery.
What is Eyelid Surgery?
Also known as an upper or lower blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery makes you look more rested and youthful by removing excess skin and fatty deposits. Persistent under-eye bags and fine wrinkles can also be corrected. And for those whose vision is obscured because of the excess upper eyelid skin, a clearer field of vision can be restored after this procedure.
How is it performed?
Incisions are placed within the natural crease of your upper eyelid or just below the lash line of your lower eyelid. Fatty deposits are removed or redraped and underlying muscle/tissue may be repositioned prior to excess skin being removed. Incisions are closed with fine external sutures. The overall result is a more relaxed looking you!
What to expect after surgery?
This procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis, meaning you will go home the same day as your surgery. You will be prescribed ointment to apply to your incisions and oral pain medication to help with any soreness that you may feel. Bruising, swelling, and eye irritation are common after this surgery and will subside over a couple of days to weeks. Final results may be obscured until all of the swelling has resolved.
